Good news and Bad News:
Good news is: I bought two goldfish yesterday!
Bad news is: The bigger one that I thought had a white spot actually has A LARGE BARE PATCH with no scales. ;_; and it has scoliosis and is quivering and gasping and lying on the bottom. The stress of moving has exasperated everything too.
So that one’s about to die. I have it quarantined and I’m looking up ways to euthanize fish now.
Good news: THE OTHER ONE IS FINE /sob
Uhm actually it probably just has a nitrate problem, they can live for a few days like that and also there is stuff you can try to make them better

Missing scales can be a symptom of lots of things, though, but may just be lost due to stress or fighting.

I HATE TO BE A PESSIMIST but if you got them from the same place the other one’s probably gonna have problems too. Don’t get any more until you know it’s clean, and when you do get a new fish quarantine it for like a week or so. Fish are tricky!
